AIASA Central Coordination Committee in its meeting held on 31th August, 2016 at New Delhi has taken following decisions:
- Fellowship revision for ICAR SRF at par with other funding agencies and granting of fellowship to all students admitted through all India Test conducted by ICAR will be taken up with Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture
- NABARD has given response to PMO on the memorandum submitted by AIASA and justified that candidates from diverse field including rural infrastructure, credits, finance etc need to be taken up along with agriculture. In fact NABARD has devised its syllabus for recruitment of various technical and managerial posts in such a way that no one qualify from agriculture and allied field. The matter relating to eligibility of agriculture and allied degrees only for recruitment of managerial posts in NABARD will be taken up with govt after obtaining information relating to number of agriculture and allied students selected in last exam.
- AIASA will submit its comments to Ministry of Agriculture for retaining four years professional degree of BSc (Ag) and allied degrees only for granting license for pesticide, fertilizers etc and will persuade all other agriculture associations/unions in centre and states for taking firm stand for betterment of youth in agriculture.
- AIASA Fisheries Chapter has been established and notification of appointment of cabinet members approved against vacant posts.
- The Association has decided to organize 19th Agricultural Scientists and Farmers Congress jointly with Bioved Institute of Agriculture & Technology-Allahabad on 18-19 February, 2017. Large number of Cabinet members from all the states and Scientists and farmers will participate in the Congress. Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture Sh. Radha Mohan Singh will be invited as Chief Guest.
- AIASA will explore the possibility of jointly organizing National Convention on fisheries with ICAR and CIFE at Mumbai in January, 2017. The matter will be discuss with Hon’ble Agriculture Minister.
- It was also decided to resolve the issues of nomenclature of degree in sericulture and eligibility for posts in central and state depts. and organizations. The necessary memorandums will be submitted to Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture, DG-ICAR and State govt. Etc.
- It has been recommended in National youth Convention on ARYA for involvement of AIASA in all govt development programme, policy related committees etc. Accordingly, Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture will be requested to include representative of AIASA in Governing Body of ICAR, Deans Committee, National Agricultural Education Accreditation Committee etc.
